Pastor: O Lord, You have searched our hearts and You know us completely.
People: You perceive our thoughts before we know them; You are familiar with all our ways.
Pastor: How precious You are to us, O Lord; therefore we will praise and serve You. Amen.

Prayers of Confession

Guide: Almighty God and Most Powerful Lord, whose kingdom is boundless and whose authority can never be diminished, we come before Your Holy Throne to worship and adore Your ways, to honor and glorify Your deeds, to revere and esteem Your sacred words.
People: Heavenly Father, You have called us to this place of peace and prayer. You have brought us to this sanctuary of strength and salvation, so that we may praise Your Holy Name and become renewed through Your wonderful love.

Guide: Gracious Lord, at times we ruin our faith through selfish and dishonest ways. There are moments in our lives when, through our pride, our greed, our longings and acts of defiance, we scorn Your sacred guidance and reject Your Holy commands.
People: Compassionate God, forgive our foolish sins and redeem us from our random acts of unkindness, bitterness, indifference and intolerance. Pardon our neglect of caring for others, of forgiving our debtors, of ignoring those who need our help. Hear us now as we silently and sincerely confess our sins, our faults, our everyday mistakes.

Guide: Merciful Father, batter down the walls of belligerence and rebelliousness which have hardened our hearts. Lead us to Jesus Christ Your Holy Son and help us to follow His faithful ways.

Promise of the Gospel:
Guide: Jesus heals us of sinful past and spiritual blindness. He sends us out into the world as defenders of the faith and witnesses of His glory. We are forgiven by the power in His precious blood and, through His everlasting grace, we are restored to God’s favor. In Christ’s Name, we rejoice and pray. Amen. (John 9:7)

Guide: Heavenly Father, who secures the universe’s existence by a word, and who allows life to continue year after year, we adore Your honorable ways and glorify Your noble deeds.
People: Invincible God, whose power knows no limits and whose kingdom never ends, we gather in Your presence and seek to please You with our praise.
Guide: Gracious Lord, although we proclaim our loyalty to You, we are still foolish and fallen, faint-hearted and faithless. We are guilty of sinful choices and selfish acts.
People: Merciful Sovereign, we have disappointed You and deceived ourselves. We have allowed pride to blemish our souls and greed to harm our hearts. We need Your forgiveness and long for Your grace. Hear us now as we confess our faults and mistakes to You alone.

Pastor: Listen to our prayers, O God; do not ignore our personal pleas.
People: O Lord, hear us and answer us. Our thoughts trouble us and we are distraught.
Pastor: Suffering has come upon us, and also our loved ones, through accident, injury, distress and disease.
People: Our hearts are deeply troubled and our minds find no peace; we are afraid of the future and seek Your healing guidance.
Pastor: Almighty Father, enable us to face our fears, to overcome our anxieties, and to vanquish all that harms us in body, mind, heart, and spirit.

Guide: Gracious and Everlasting Father, we come to You with our songs of faith and hymns of joy. We bow our hearts in Your Holy Presence and seek to serve You as our Sacred King.
People: Almighty and Loving Creator, You have brought us to this place of worship and called us to proclaim You as Sovereign. We pray that our praises delight You, and that our hearts are devoted to Your Kingdom.

Guide: Merciful Majesty, we confess to being complacent about our faith and truculent about Your blessings. We are guilty of pandering to our pride and nursing our wrath.
People: Immortal God, forgive our foolish hearts and sinful minds. Have mercy upon us for being so wrapped up in ourselves, instead of revering You. Hear us now as we silently confess our mistakes and seek Your grace through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Guide: Jesus is the Light of the world. Guide: Merciful and Loving Lord, we admit to being sinful and selfish, cynical and self-centered. We break our promises and disappoint our loved ones. We turn away from Your truth and impose our will on others.
