Approaching God

Announcements & A Word of Welcome

Prelude, Gathering

Acclamation (based on words from Psalm 149)
Pastor: Let us sing to the Lord our songs of praise; let us worship Him from this sacred place.
People: May the Lord delight in His people; may He crown us with salvation.
Pastor: Let us rejoice and honor the Lord; let us exalt His Name above all names. Amen.

First Hymn:

Prayers of Confession

Guide: All Powerful and Eternally Mighty God, whose voice roars throughout creation and whose words sustain all life, we glorify You as our King and Majesty, the Ruler of all Creation.
People: Everlasting Father, whose wisdom is beyond our thinking and whose ways are mysterious, we humbly gather in Your presence and seek to please You with our devotion.

Guide: Gracious Lord, whose holy judgment we fear, and whose divine authority we accept, forgive our vain and foolish ways, our unwise and unfaithful choices, and our sinful and selfish deeds.
People: Almighty King, we seek Your pardon and yearn for Your grace. We confess our faults and regret our past mistakes. Hear us now as we silently confess our wrongs to You alone.

- SILENCE -

Guide: Loving Father, You gave Jesus to us, so that we may rely upon His mercy and compassion to forgive us of our sins. By Him, our souls are saved; in Him, our lives are made holy.
People: We make our personal petitions in Christ’s Name and complete our prayers through the saying of His divine words, “Our Father... (THE LORD'S PRAYER” debts/debtors)
(Isaiah 33:3)

Promise of the Gospel

Guide: Jesus has known us all of our days. He has seen our secret shames and our times of spiritual blindness. He alone has the power and authority to redeem us from the past and restore us to God’s favor. Let us rejoice and be glad, for He is our worthy Savior, both now and forevermore. Amen. (John 9:20)

Gloria Patri: Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

Pastor: Be our rock of refuge, to which we can always go; be our strength and fortress, in which we feel safe.
People: Deliver us, O God, from our fears and worries; rescue us from all illness, injury, and unease.
Pastor: You are our hope, O Sovereign Lord; we have known of Your mercy and love throughout our lives.
People: We rely upon You, O God, to hear our prayers. We bring to You our concerns and all of our loved ones who need Your help and healing.

Serving God

Dedication: Thanks be to God, who gives us victory through Jesus Christ our Lord. To Him, we bring our tithes and gifts, symbols of our gratitude and tokens of our service to God’s Kingdom. May this offering be accepted and blessed for the life, work, and ministry of Christ in this congregation, and throughout the world. In Christ’s Holy name, we give and pray. Amen.
(1 Corinthians 15:57)

Closing Hymn:

Benediction: May Christ enable us to renounce secret and shameful ways; may the Father encourage us to proclaim His truth in the world; and may the Holy Spirit empower us to witness effectively as Christians who worship, honor, and serve the One Triune and Living God, both now and forever. Amen.
