Approaching God

Welcome & Announcements

Prelude

Call to Worship
Pastor:                  The Lord has brought us here to share in His joy and worship His name.
People:                 This is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it!
Pastor:                  Let us joyfully sing and lovingly glorify our God. Amen.

Hymn:

Prayer of Adoration & Confession

Guide:                  Almighty God, whose strength sustains our people and whose will directs our lives, we praise and magnify Your Holy Name. You are the Lord of life and love, as well as the Creator of Heaven and Earth. We lift up our hearts before You, with adoration, joy, and thanksgiving.

People:                 Everlasting Father, who bestows undeserved blessings upon us and who shows compassion, care, and concern throughout our lives, we acknowledge You as the Sovereign of our souls and the Holy King of all Creation. We appeal to Your mercy and grace, asking forgiveness of all our past mistakes and our present sinful ways. Hear us now as we silently confess our faults to You alone.

- Silent Confessions -

Guide:                  Gracious God, we humbly thank You for Your Son Jesus, the Eternal Christ who saves us from our sins. We pledge our lives to Jesus and unite our hearts to Him, through His Holy words of prayer, saying, “Our Father…THE LORD’S PRAYER” (debts/debtors).

Promise of the Gospel

Guide:                  Christ encourages us to live our lives faithfully by being dedicated to God and His Kingdom. When we fail to live up to this expectation, Jesus graciously redirects our paths and forgives us of our past mistakes. Christ is our Way, Truth, and Life; there is nothing false or fearful in Him, so let us rejoice and give glory to our Savior forevermore. Amen.

Gloria Patri (sung in unison): Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

Prayers for Health and Healing

Pastor:                 Let us truly love the LORD, for He hears our prayers and cries of concern. Because He addresses and answers our prayers, we will call on Him throughout our lives. When we experience dread or fear, or if we are anxious and beset by trouble, then we will faithfully pray to the LORD to save and heal us. God is gracious, as well as righteous; He is full of compassion for us.
People:                 O LORD, protect and deliver us, as well as all our loved ones. For those in need of strength and care, heal them from all that harms them physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Hear us now as we quietly and sincerely pray.

Silent Prayers for others and ourselves. A candle is lit.

Pastor:                 May our souls be at peace and all our fears subside, for the LORD will be good to us. In Jesus' Name, we pray. Amen.                (Healing prayer based on words & phrases from Psalm 116)

Dedication (unison – led by pastor):       Lord Jesus, when we come together to sing hymns, say our prayers, and receive Your message, You expect us to apply these sacred lessons with the selfless giving of our lives to You. As we present these gifts, we glorify Your Name and seek to use them for the continuing ministry of God's Kingdom in this church, our community, and across the world. In Your Holy Name, we give and pray.  Amen.

Closing Hymn:

Benediction(unison):  May Christ make us one people who faithfully serve Him; may the Father make us one voice to honorably praise Him; and may the Holy Spirit make us one church to glorify the One, Triune, and Living God, both now and always.  Amen.
