Confessional Prayer

Guide: Almighty God, Creator of the majestic mountains and Maker of the spacious sky, we come before You as humble servants, devoted disciples, and seekers of Your way, truth and life.

People: Loving Father, You have power over life and death, faith and failure, love and grief. We look to You for help and strength, guidance and counsel, purpose and meaning for our lives.

Guide:  Merciful Lord, we recognize that we are imperfect and unwise. We know that our actions can be foolish and selfish. We understand that our choices can be rebellious and wrong, hateful and unhealthy, sinful and destructive. When we give into temptation and give up our faith; when we disregard Your words and disrespect Your ways, forgive us. Hear us now as we silently pray.

- SILENCE -

Guide: Heavenly Father, cover our many sins with the cleansing blood of Christ. Remove us from temptation and restore us to Your Kingdom. For it is only through Jesus that we can be completely pardoned and totally forgiven of all our faults and faithless ways. Guide:  When we believe in Jesus, we have everlasting life. When we ask Him for forgiveness, He has the power to fully pardon our past mistakes. Let us rejoice and give thanks to God, for Christ is our Savior, both now and forever.   Amen.

Pastor: O LORD, why does trouble come to us and why do good people suffer? We remember Your deeds of deliverance and Your ways of salvation. Come to us and heal us.

People:            Turn towards us, O Living God, and take away our fears by strengthening our faith. You have helped our people across many generations. Come to us now, in this holy place. Touch us with Your Presence. Heal us by Your Love.

Pastor: Do not forget those whom we cherish and love, Almighty Lord. Heal them of all that harms them in body, mind, soul and spirit. Do not let our loved ones give into to despair. Fill them with peace and hope, strength and health, restoration and power.

People: God of goodness and grace, Lord of life and love, who enhances our faith with purpose, and who blesses our worship with power, come among us today and teach us Your sacred ways.
Guide:  Heavenly Father, we know that we are sinful and unworthy of Your favor. We have allowed pride and prejudice, falsehood and foolishness to influence our choices and damage our spirits. Hear us now as we sorrowfully confess our personal sins to You alone.

Guide: Almighty and Powerful God, whose strength supports our people and whose purpose directs our lives, we praise and magnify Your Holy Name. You are the Lord of the storm and sunshine, and the Creator of Heaven and Earth. We lift up our hearts before You, with adoration, joy and thanksgiving.

People: Everlasting Father, who showers us with many blessings and who pours out compassion, care and concern over our lives, we acknowledge You as the Sovereign of our souls and the Holy King of our hearts.

Pastor: We love the LORD, for He hears our prayers and cries of concern. Because He addresses our prayers, we will call on Him all of our lives.

People: When we experience dread and fear, when we are anxious and beset by trouble, then we will call upon the Sacred Name of the LORD to save and heal us. The LORD is gracious and righteous; He is full of compassion.

Pastor: O LORD, protect us and all our loved ones. For those in need of strength and care, heal them from all that harms them in body, mind, heart and soul. Hear us now as we quietly pray.

People: Compassionate Father and Loving Lord, we call upon You to fill our lives with Your blessings, bounty, and beauty. Your words sustain and direct us; Your mercies sanctify and correct us; Your love welcomes and accepts us.

Guide: Sovereign God and Glorious Savior, forgive us for allowing our faith to fade and our pride to proliferate; pardon our foolish ways and sinful choices. Guide: Almighty God and Everlasting Father, whose justice is based on mercy and whose judgments are full of grace, we praise You for the promises of hope and the covenants of faith You have made and sustained with humankind.

People: Immortal Lord and King of Creation, who willed us to come and worship You in this holy sanctuary, we applaud Your Sacred Ways and freely accept Your authority over our lives.

Guide: Gracious Father, we have faltered in our faith and diminished our dependence upon You through our pride, selfishness and sinful choices. We have allowed ourselves to be deceived by our desires and distracted by our dreams. Forgive us for surrendering to temptation and neglecting Your Holy commands.
