Approaching God

Announcements & A Word of Welcome
Prelude, Gathering

Acclamation (based on words from Psalm 138)

Pastor: Let us worship the Lord with all our hearts; let us praise His love and faithfulness.
People: We will sing of the ways of the Lord, for His glory is great.
Pastor: The Lord will fulfill His purpose for us; His love endures forever. Amen.

First Hymn:

Prayers of Confession

Guide: Heavenly Father, who secures the universe’s existence by a word, and who allows life to continue year after year, we adore Your honorable ways and glorify Your noble deeds.
People: Invincible God, whose power knows no limits and whose kingdom never ends, we gather in Your presence and seek to please You with our praise.
Guide: Gracious Lord, although we proclaim our loyalty to You, we are still foolish and fallen, faint-hearted and faithless. We are guilty of sinful choices and selfish acts.
People: Merciful Sovereign, we have disappointed You and deceived ourselves. We have allowed pride to blemish our souls and greed to harm our hearts. We need Your forgiveness and long for Your grace. Hear us now as we confess our faults and mistakes to You alone.

- Silent Confessions -

Guide: Loving God, You have granted us forgiveness through the blood of Your Son. Our lives can only be renewed and our souls restored to Your favor through the redeeming grace of Jesus Christ our Lord.
People: We make our confessions in our Savior’s Name and through His words, we continue to pray, saying, "Our Father, Who art in heaven...THE LORD'S PRAYER” debts/debtors
(Isaiah 32:10)

Promise of the Gospel:

Guide: Jesus is the Great Miracle Worker of our lives. He accepts our sincere petitions and erases our past mistakes. He grants us mercy instead of judgment, and grace instead of wrath. He is the Liberator of our eternal lives and the Savior of our immortal souls. In His Name, we rejoice and pray. Amen. (John 9:6)

Gloria Patri: Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

Prayers for Health and Healing

Pastor: Listen to our prayers, O God; do not ignore our personal pleas.
People: O Lord, hear us and answer us. Our thoughts trouble us and we are distraught.
Pastor: Suffering has come upon us, and also our loved ones, through accident, injury, distress and disease.
People: Our hearts are deeply troubled and our minds find no peace; we are afraid of the future and seek Your healing guidance.
Pastor: Almighty Father, enable us to face our fears, to overcome our anxieties, and to vanquish all that harms us in body, mind, heart, and spirit.
People: Embrace us and give us rest. We look to You for health and healing, for ourselves, our loved ones, and all whom we know whose needs are great. Hear us now as we silently pray.

Offering & Offertory

Dedication:

Lord Jesus, we are descendants of Adam and children of Eve. You have come into our world to challenge and change our lives. To You, we bring our tithes and offerings. We ask that You will bless them for the work of Your Church on earth and to the glory of God in heaven. In Your Precious Name, we give and pray. Amen. (1 Corinthians 15:45)

Closing Hymn:

Benediction:
May the Son keep us competent in our witness of His ways; may the Father claim us as His own each day; and may the Holy Spirit empower and equip us to be stewards and servants of the One, Triune and Living God, both now and forever. Amen. (2 Corinthians 3:5)
