Confessional Prayer

Guide: Almighty and Everlasting God, whose ancient power created the heavens and the earth; whose holy word sustains all existing, we humbly bow before Your sacred presence and seek to please You with our prayers and praises.

People: Heavenly Lord, You have called us to Your House to worship Your ways and glorify Your great and wonderful deeds. You have gathered us from different places to unite our voices, minds and hearts in song, ceremony and service.

Guide: Gracious Father, we know that our lives are imperfect and sometimes we disappoint through bad choices and poor decisions. We allow our faith to be diminished by our passions and pride, our ambitions and ideals, our sinful greed and self-centered goals.

People: Merciful God, in those moments when we are reckless with our souls and indifferent to Your words; when we are unconcerned about our Your Salvation and inconsiderate of Your Ways, please forgive us. For we know that only Your Holy Son Jesus can save us from ourselves, cleanse us of the past and free us from our sins. Hear us now as we confess our mistakes to You in silent prayer.

- SILENCE -

Guide: Loving Lord, we thank You for Your mercy and the power of Your peace. We praise You for allowing Christ to enter into our lives. We pray that faith may settle our fears, hope may bring us healing and that Jesus will continue to bring joy into our hearts.

People: For we pray this in His Holy Name and unite our souls together, saying, “Our Father, etc.”(Isaiah 23v7)

Promise of the Gospel:

Guide: We cannot buy forgiveness nor can we earn God’s mercy. Only Jesus has the power to forgive our sins, direct our paths and restore us to God’s Kingdom. he knows our hearts and understand the struggles that we endure each day. Let us rejoice in His love and praise His Holy Name. Amen. (John 6v7)
