Approaching God

Welcome & Announcements

Prelude & Gathering

Hymn:

Confessional Prayer
Guide: Almighty God, who knows all our secrets and who sees all that we do, we humbly approach You, with awe and reverence, seeking to please You with our worship and hoping to delight You with our love. We have sinned against You and fought against Your ways. We have put You to the back of our minds and diminished Your influence over our decisions.

People: Gracious Father, we have fled from Your presence and sought refuge in our own understanding. We have fallen into temptation and become ensnared with our own sinful works, words and ways. Forgive our foolish faults and selfish stupidity. Pardon us for being distracted by our own desires and deceived by our own delusions. Help us to turn to Jesus, to receive His joy and experience His mercy, to be restored by His grace and reclaimed by His blood. Hear us now as we sincerely confess our sins to You alone.

- SILENCE -

Guide: Loving Lord, You have opened the floodgates of forgiveness to us and granted us the opportunity to be restored to Your Favor and Kingdom through our Savior, Jesus Christ. To Him alone, we are indebted. By Him alone, are we pardoned of our sins and protected from Your justified wrath.

We have different talents and gifts, different resources and treasures, different commitments and pursuits. By Your wisdom and grace, You enable us to blend all of these blessings into one body; You permit us to share our offering so that Your work may be accomplished by this church, to this community and throughout the world. Take these tokens and also our lives. May all be used in the service of God’s Kingdom and to the glory of Your Sacred Name. Amen.
