Sunday Prayers - 11th Sunday in ordinary - ordinary 11 - 14 June

Approaching God

Announcements & A Word of Welcome

Gathering Song & Prelude

Hymn:

Confessional Prayer
Guide: Lord of all ages and Creator of the centuries, You honor us with Your presence; You bless us with Your favor and love. Your ways have established this universe and Your works declare Your power. We come before You as servants and sinners, seeking Your mercy and needing Your strength.
People: Merciful Father, we try to praise You each day and set out to glorify Your Name. Our intentions are noble and good, but our actions are sometimes selfish and disappointing. Instead of singing Your praises, we idolize ourselves. Instead of witnessing to Your ways, we wallow in our wants and desires. Forgive us as we silently pray for mercy.

- SILENCE -

Guide: Heavenly Father, You have given us Jesus, Your Holy Son, to wipe out our past mistakes and reclaim us for Your Kingdom. Without His grace, we cannot be restored. Without His pardon, we cannot be Your people. In Christ’s Holy Name, we pray, saying “Our Father …THE LORD’S PRAYER (debts/debtors)”

Promise of the Gospel
Guide: Christ came into the world, declaring the goodness of God and His mercy for the Earth. We rejected Him and crucified Him to a cross of shame. But God transformed that Cross into a symbol of forgiveness, hope, and power. Jesus became our Savior and we are now restored to the everlasting love of God. So let us rejoice and give thanks for we are forgiven and favored by the LORD, both now and always. Amen.

Gloria Patri(sung): Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

Prayers for Health and Healing

Pastor: Hear our prayers, O LORD; let our cries for help come to You. When we anxiously pray and express our worries, be near to us, O LORD.
People: We are weak and frail, human and finite, O God; we need Your strength and healing. Grant peace to our minds and hope for our hearts so that we may overcome our fears.
Pastor: We call upon Your Holy Name and pray for all our loved ones. Arise and have compassion upon us, Lord; show us Your favor and heal us of all that harms our bodies, minds, hearts, and souls. Hear us now as we quietly pray.

Silent Prayers for others and ourselves. A candle is lit.

Pastor: The Lord will respond to our heartfelt prayers. He will not despise the cries of His people. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
(Healing prayer based on words & phrases from Psalm 102)
