Call to Worship

Pastor:                 Great is the LORD in the universe; He is exalted from every realm of Creation.

People:                 We will praise His almighty and everlasting Name for God is awesome and holy.

Pastor:                 Let us worship and glorify our Creator. Let us magnify and bless the Lord! Amen.

Prayers of Adoration and Confession

Guide:                 Everlasting God, Your power sustains the Universe and Your will permits life on Earth to continue. We come here to this sacred place to praise Your wonderful deeds and to give thanks for Your acts of grace in our lives. We are blessed by Your faithfulness and encouraged with Your love.

People:                Gracious Father, we sometimes question Your words and set aside Your counsel when making crucial decisions in our lives. We sometimes think too highly of ourselves and allow pride to diminish our Christian faith. Forgive us for ignoring Your authority and for succumbing to our selfish temptations. Hear us now as we express our regret and repent of our sinful ways.

- Silent Confessions -

Guide:                  Merciful Lord, without the ministry of Your Son Jesus Christ, we would have no opportunity for forgiveness or restoration, repentance or reconciliation. Therefore, we thank You for His supreme sacrifice by pledging our lives to Him. In Christ's Name, we make our confession and with His holy words, we further pray, saying, “Our Father...THE LORD’S PRAYER” (debts/debtors).

               

Promise of the Gospel

Guide: Every day we break God's Law and disrespect His commands. We put ourselves under His divine judgment, from which only Jesus can save us.  Christ alone has the power to pardon and restore us to God's grace and Kingdom. Let us therefore rejoice and be glad in His Name. Amen.

Pastor:                 O Lord, You have searched our spirits and know us completely. You see all that we do and perceive our thoughts, worries, and concerns. You are familiar with all of our ways. You understand all that we currently experience. Before we even voice our prayers, You know what we are about to ask.

People:                 When we feel pressure or suffer from stress, You lay Your loving hand upon us. Your presence is wonderful, therefore we appeal to You for healing and peace to be given to us and all our loved ones. Hear us now as we personally pray.

Silent Prayers for others and ourselves. A candle is lit.

Pastor:                  We are never out of God's reach. We always belong to Him. In Jesus' Name, we thankfully pray. Amen.

Guide:                  Almighty and Everlasting God, whose ancient power created the Heavens and this Earth, and whose holy word sustains all existing life, we humbly bow before Your sacred presence and seek to please You with our prayers and praises.

People:                 Gracious Father, we know that our lives are imperfect and that sometimes we disappoint You through our bad choices and poor decisions. We allow our faith to be weakened by our passions and pride, our ambitions and ideals, as well as our sinful greed and self-centered goals. Merciful God, please forgive us, for we know that only Your Holy Son Jesus can save us from ourselves, cleanse us of the past, and free us from our sins. Hear us now as we silently confess our mistakes to You.

Guide:                  Loving Lord, we thank You for Your mercy and the power of Your peace. We praise You for allowing Christ to enter into our lives. We pray that our Christian faith may settle our fears, and that Christ, our hope, may bring us to a joyful and everlasting reconciliation with You. Guide:                  We cannot buy forgiveness nor can we earn God’s mercy. Only Jesus has the power to forgive our sins, direct our paths, and restore us to God’s Kingdom. Pastor:                  The LORD is our light and our salvation-- whom shall we fear? The LORD is the stronghold of our lives-- of what shall we be afraid? For in the day of trouble,  God will keep us safe in His dwelling.

People:                 Hear our voices when we call, O LORD; be merciful to us and answer our prayers for healing. We seek Your grace and mercy, O Lord; heal us of all that harms us. May our families and friends be confident of Your power and care; may they know Your goodness in their lives. Grant them peace instead of pain, serenity instead of suffering, happiness instead of hopelessness. Hear us now as we silently bring them to You.

Guide:                  Everlasting Majesty and Lord of all Creation, we lift our hearts and voices to praise Your Holy Name and cheerfully rejoice in Your sacred presence. Throughout the entire Earth, millions of people are blessing and glorifying Your power. Today, we gladly join them in the worship of Your ways and the praising of Your deeds.

People:                 Gracious Father, we know that our lives are imperfect and filled with moments of sinful mistakes. We have been selfish, proud, and faithless; stubborn, greedy, and indifferent; angry, bitter, and spiteful. Heavenly Lord, forgive us when temptation overcomes us and sin overwhelms our hearts. Pardon us for neglecting our responsibilities and casting aside our faith. Hear us now as we silently pray.

Guide:                  Loving God, without Christ’s sacrifice, we would have nothing to restore us to You. We would have no escape from Your wrath, as well as no hope of entering into Your everlasting Kingdom. Humbly and thankfully, we make these prayers in the Name of Jesus, our Only Savior, and in His precious words, we unite our hearts, saying,

Pastor:                 Have mercy upon us, O God, have mercy upon us, for in You our souls take refuge. We cry out to You as the Most High God, who fulfills the purposes of our lives. Loving Lord, send forth Your mercy from Heaven; release us from our fears through the power presence of Your faithful love.

People:                 In the midst of our anxieties and troubles, grant us peace. From the discomfort of our illnesses and the suffering we endure, heal us, O Lord. Let Your goodness and grace, Your greatness and glory be experienced in our lives and those of our loved ones, as we seek healing from all that harms us in body, mind, heart, and spirit. Hear us now as we silently pray.
