Sunday Worship prayers - Lent 1A - March 13

Approaching God

Announcements & A Word of Welcome
Prelude

First Hymn:

Prayer of Adoration & Confession

Guide:             Heavenly Father, whose holy patience has lasted generations, and whose sacred ways teach us right from wrong, we worship and adore You. Everlasting God, we seek Your instruction and inspiration; we hope to please You with our praise and delight You with our devotion.
People:            Merciful Lord, we recognize our imperfect and sinful ways. We know that we fall short of Your expectations and cast aside Your commands. Forgive us for being faithless and foolish at times; pardon us for being impertinent and rebellious, self-centered and false. Hear us now as we quietly confess our sins to You.

- Silent Confessions -

Guide: Compassionate God, whose mercy we seek and whose forgiveness we need, thank You for providing us with Jesus. Thank You for Your plan of salvation, which was, is, and always will be fulfilled in Him alone. We make our confessions in the Name of Christ, our Only Savior and Living Lord, who taught us to pray, saying "Our Father…THE LORD’S PRAYER (debts/debtors)

Prayers for Health and Healing

Pastor:            May our cries for healing come before You, O Lord; grant us understanding of Your Holy word. We bring our supplications to You alone; deliver us according to Your promises.
People:            May we praise You with our hearts and lips, as we experience Your sacred presence. May we sing to Your glory, for all Your ways are righteous.

Pastor:            Lord, let Your healing hands be ready to help us, our loved ones, and all whom we know, who are suffering from sickness, experiencing illness, and recovering from surgery. We long for Your strength and salvation. Heal us from all that harms us in body, mind, heart, and soul.
Silent Prayers for others and ourselves. A candle is lit.
Pastor:            Gracious Father, may Your love sustain us, so that we may always praise You in our lives. In Jesus' Name, we bring our prayers. Amen.

Offering & Offertory

Dedication(unison):

Lord Jesus, we do not deserve the blessings of mercy, grace, and love that You bring to each of our lives. We are truly thankful for these gifts, and so we bring before You our tithes and offerings, pledging our hearts to You along with them. Take these tokens and our lives for the service of Your holy mission on Earth, in our church, our community and throughout the world. In Your Precious Name, we give and pray. Amen.

Closing Hymn:

Benediction (unsion): May Christ come to us and show us His ways; may the Father grant us a full measure of His everlasting love; and may the Holy Spirit bring to us the blessings of faith, to the power and glory of the One Triune and Living God forevermore.  Amen.
