Sunday Worship prayers - Lent 3A - 3rd Sunday in Lent - March 27

Approaching God

Announcements & A Word of Welcome
Prelude

First Hymn:

Prayers of Adoration & Confession

Guide:            Lord of Heaven and Earth, of all that is seen and unseen, we bring to You our prayers of joy and jubilation, as well as our praises of thanksgiving and celebration. Your are God of grace and glory, of redemption and righteousness, therefore we praise Your sacred Name and delight in Your holy deeds.

People:                       Merciful Father, You teach us right from wrong, and offer to guide our decisions and correct our choices. We confess that we have ignored Your counsel and rebelled against our faith. We are guilty of being selfish and proud, foolish and vain, sinful and wayward.  Hear us now as we personally ask forgiveness from You alone.

- Silent Confessions -

Guide:                         Everlasting God, help us to reconsider our ways, so that we may reshape our lives according to Christ's commands. Enable us to merge our hearts and souls with Him. We declare that Jesus is our only Savior and that through Him alone can we be pardoned, saved, and restored to God forevermore. In Christ’s holy words, we continue to pray, saying, "Our Father…THE LORD'S PRAYER" (debts/debtors)

Promise of the Gospel:

Guide:             Christ wants us to believe in Him, so that we may become His disciples in this world. He forgives us for all of our faults and absolves us from our mistakes. He is our One, True and Only Savior, therefore we cheerfully seek to serve Him, both now and forever. Amen.

Gloria Patri: Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

Prayers for Health and Healing

Pastor:             O Lord, we declare Your glory and proclaim the healing works of Your hands. Day by day, we speak of Your mightiness; week by week, we praise Your Holy Name.
People:                        All over the world, people in their own languages, are speaking the same; like us they seek Your compassion, Your concern, and Your care. Cries for help are to be heard all across the world; throughout the earth, You are glorified as the Healer of the nations and the Creator of all life.

Pastor:             We rejoice in Your ways and are refreshed by Your love. We reach out for strength and ask for support. Nothing is hidden from You, O Gracious Lord. Hear us now as we ask for healing for ourselves, our loved ones, and all whom we know.

Silent Prayers for others and ourselves. A candle is lit.

Pastor: The compassion of the Lord is perfect. He alone revives our souls. In Jesus' Name, we pray. Amen.
(Healing prayer based on words & phrases from Psalm 19)

Singing of '"Jesus Draw Me Close."

Prayer of Illumination:
Reader:            Holy Spirit, You treat us lovingly and seek to bless us with eternal life through Christ's words. Help us at this time to focus on what the Scriptures have to say and to learn from all that occurs. In Jesus' Name, we pray.  Amen.

Serving God

Offering & Offertory

Dedication(unison):
Lord Jesus, You call us to be Your witnesses and disciples. You challenge our lives all of the time and seek to change our ways. You want us to give with cheerful hearts and recognize that through what we offer, we are making a positive impact by our congregation to our community and throughout the world. In Your Holy Name, we gladly give and pray. Amen.

Closing Hymn:

Benediction(unison):             May Christ help us to fulfill His plans for our church, so that we may delight in the Lord; may the Father grant us the desires of our heart, so that we may honor and bless Him each day; and may the Holy Spirit teach us to ask only for what we need, and not for what we want. To the glory of the One, Triune and Living God, both now and forevermore. Amen.
